Hyderabad: The Telangana government is planning to set up three more aerospace and defence parks on the outskirts of Hyderabad in the next four years, said Arvind Kumar, the Telangana industries and commerce secretary. “The idea behind setting more aerospace and defence parks is to make Hyderabad a hub of aerospace and defence where all activities, including R&D, manufacturing, incubation, will be provided at one place,”  Mr Kumar said. The city already enjoys an advantage over other cities because of the presence of DRDO and other strategic establishments.

For this purpose, the government is planning to invest Rs 2,500 crore. “We are hoping that in the coming years, Hyderabad becomes the aerospace and defence hub. So, whatever is the land and manpower requirement, we will be able to provide. As of now, we are envisaging three more aerospace and defence parks.” Mr Kumar said.
