This was meant to ‘successfully’ launch Ninasam Satish as a producer after his recent escapades as a solo hero since Lucia. With the debut production under his home banner Satish Picture House, there was lot riding on the actor turned producer, but unfortunately the Rocket he chose, unfortunately explodes in a disastrous manner soon after its launch. Reason behind the disaster being serious defects in the engine (story) coupled with error in design (making) and propelled with improper fuel, all making it a disastrous launch.

Moreover, the weather conditions for the launch too did not facilitate for a smooth run with many more taking off this season with at least half-a-dozen on an average per week. Many who witnessed the launch were wondering whether the Rocket took a nosedive back to Gandhinagar. With a little less than two-and-a half hour, it is a renovated machine inspired by super hits in the past – from Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jahenge, Mungaru Male, Maduve Mane, and many more of those copies.

An actor who graduated from doing character roles, and then going lucky with Lucia which launched him as a solo-hero, later surviving with average hits in the box offices, has terribly gone with the next big step in his career. For what made the makers chose the title Rocket is another mystery to be probed following the disaster.

Son of a rich man, a happy-go-lucky character played by Ninasam gets involved in a road accident severely injuring a man. While forcibly made to runaway from the spot, the disturbed hero also survives an accident. He wakes up in hospital after few months, and falls in ‘real’ love with the doctor who treats him.

Despite the song featuring the voice of Puneeth Rajkumar, and Aishani Shetty the heroine, the first stage of the vehicle has nothing to propel for an exciting journey. The doctor vanishes even before our hero proposes her. He is soon on his way to Madikeri. No surprises as the two meet, and journey in a bus stopped mid way due to some law and order tension brewing in next stops. What follows is a typical done to death sequences.

Once they reach, the hero is devastated as learns that the doctor is marrying in not less than a week! The image as a commercial hero with build-up scenes, stunts with unchanged mannerisms of Ninasam Satish has backfired. The presence of Aishani makes it Rocket beautiful, and that’s it. The rest is a serious fault in the vehicle!
