Technology is still shunned by the Anantapur police
Anantapur city failed to avail technology
Anantapur: Police stations, even in urban areas were reportedly failing to make use of technology for investigation and registration of cases in the district. Majority of police stations in Anantapur district are neglecting to upload the status of complaints at primary level. It was suggested to upload any complaint received by the station house officer before filing FIR. However, further process would be available online till closure of the case.
A separate control system being maintained by CCS police at HLC colony to monitor issues pertaining to online systems and a separate monitoring cell was also maintained in court cases. The cell would alert the police officials to attend court cases through online system.
But, the police stations were not uploading the details of complaints and making delay claiming reasons that they were busy with station work and bandobust duties.
Anantapur SP Rajasekhar Babu, during a review meeting with the station house officers expressed dissatisfaction for frequent delay in uploading the cases at all levels. He noticed that department was providing all necessary requirements including tabs to the SHOs of respective police stations.
Few stations located in Anantapur city and surrounding areas also failed to avail technology. Mr Rajasekhar Babu had issued stringent warning to SHOs directing them to update list and details of the cases within a week. A deadline of one week was given for SHOs by the SP.
