Anams allay fears among Telugu Desam cadres
Our aim is to strengthen CM Naidu’s hand for a world class capital, says former FM
Nellore: Reacting to apprehensions among the Telugu Desam leaders over Anams' entry into TD, former finance minister Anam Ramana-rayana Reddy allayed the fears stressing that they are joining in the interest of the development of the state and assured to work in tandem with them.
Reminding that they were in TD nearly for a decade, he said that they have good relationship with many leaders.
“The division of the state has hit the future of one generation and our pleas to Sonia Gandhi against bifurcation fell on deaf ears. Our intention is to strengthen the hands of CM N. Chandrababu Naidu to develop AP in all respects,” Mr Ramanarayana Reddy said while addressing close followers of their family here on Friday.
Referring to 30,000 gas connections he sanctioned benefiting 1.5 lakh people in Atmakur, he said that he secured only 4,000 votes because people want to punish Congress for dividing the state.
“We remained in Congr-ess though many leaders left the party and three members from our family including me contested in the election knowing well about the impending defeat because they are against backstabbing the party,” Mr Ramanarayana Reddy asserted.
He said that they are compelled to shift from Congress in the interest of the development of state, their younger generation besides families and cadres following them since decades.
The former minister attributed their choice of joining in TD to their confidence on Mr Naidu's leadership and they want to strengthen his hands to build a world class capital and bring industries to the state.
Speaking on the occasion, former legislator Anam Vivekananda Reddy said that the objective for a politician should be the development of his segment and not power. He said that don't have any rivals in politics except during elections.
Reiterating that they are not migrating to TD for power or posts, he said that they are ready to cooperate and follow TD leaders to strengthen the party in the district.
A sizeable number of Anam's followers including former legislator Kancharla Srihari Naidu and former Nellore Mayor Bhanusree exhibited their loyalty by stating that they would follow Anam brothers irrespective of party they are choosing.
