Mumbai: The release of one of the most awaited films of 2016, ‘Baahubali 2’, might just upset Aamir Khan. According to reports on Sunday, ‘Baahubali Returns’ could target a Christmas 2016 release that is the same date Aamir has reserved for his sports themed film ‘Dangal’.

The actor, who was in the middle of the ‘intolerance debacle’ all this week, might just have to pad up well if he plans on taking on the super hit flick at the box office. While ‘Baahubali’ will pick their story up from epic summer film, Aamir will be seen in a biopic playing a wrestler.

After a three-month break, the ‘Baahubali’ shoot was delayed because of pre-production work. It was first scheduled was scheduled to go on floors in September, but was later pushed to November and now December. However reports state that about 30% of the film has already been shot. Aamir on the other hand is well into his film’s shoot and was forced to take a week off because of a minor back injury.

Both film are expected to wrap up in July next year. S. S. Rajamouli will then have to take on the mammoth task of producing state of the art visual effects. Meanwhile, Aamir will have to loose some of the extra pound he put on and regain his ‘PK’ form for the film that will see him play a young and old man.

The first ‘Baahubali’ film, which is believed to be the highest grossing film in the history of Telugu cinema, went on to collect more than Rs 110 crore in the first few days of its Hindi dubbed Bollywood version. Looks like the sequel might be a threat to Aamir Khan’s ‘Dangal’.
