Amaravati metro rail to study extension proposal
Stations would come up in every 1.2 kilometers
Vijayawada: Managing Director of Amaravati Metro Rail Corporation Limited, N. Ramakrishna Reddy said that they would conduct a study for extending the metro rail from Singhnagar to Autonagar and route number five along Amaravati.
Participating in an awareness meeting along with the officials of Vijayawada Municipal Corporation (VMC) here on Sunday, Mr Ramakrishna Reddy said that Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) has asked them to extend the metro rail facility for Singhnagar-Autonagar stretch along with Amaravati.
He said that 12 stations would be constructed along Mahatma Gandhi Road and Eluru Road corridors and stations would come up in every 1.2 kilometers. Nearly 20 services would run in each corridor with automatic system.
Mayor Koneru Sridhar asked the metro rail officials to provide one corridor in west constituency limits. Commissioner G. Veerapandyan, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation director S.D. Sharma and several officials were also present.
