New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi condoled Sunday the deaths in Tamil Nadu due to incessant rain and flash floods, which have claimed over 180 lives.  On his ‘Mann Ki Baat’ radio programme, the PM drew the nation’s attention towards climate change and global warming.

“It was saddening to witness devastation and deaths during the festive season, but I have faith in the strength of Tamil Nadu,” he said. He added that the tragedy in the state came about due to the impact of global warming.

“Checking global warming is everyone’s responsibility. Energy conservation is the best way to do it,” Modi said before he left for Paris to participate in the 21st Conference of Parties of United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.
