The IPS Association even passed a resolution in favour of Mr. Paul
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Amid the controversies over bar bribery case, Vigilance director Vinson M. Paul will retire from service on Monday. He had gone on leave following the adverse remarks of the Inquiry Commissioner and Special Court (Vigilance) in the bar bribery case against K. M. Mani on October 29.
A 1984 batch IPS officer, Mr Paul had been in service for 31 years and headed many sensational probe teams, including those for the ice cream parlour case and Paul Muthoot murder case.
Despite the court's adverse remarks against him in the bar bribery case, Mr. Paul’s IPS colleagues firmly stood by him upholding his integrity. The IPS Association even passed a resolution in favour of Mr. Paul.
Mr. Paul's instruction to the investigation officer of the bar bribery case, SP R. S. Sukesan that the evidences gathered were not sufficient to chargesheet Mani had resulted in the court's adverse remarks against him. But Mr. Paul stood firmly on his stand.
