Bobby Simha and Reshmi Menon
We saw Superstar Rajinikanth who got the credit of first Indian star to be captured on motion capture technology in Kochadaiiyaan. Now, it looks like National Award winner Bobby Simha has been motion captured for his flick Urumeen. Yet another interesting aspect is that the lead pair Bobby and Reshmi Menon who fell in love during the shooting got recently engaged. Their on screen chemistry also seems to have worked well. The fantasy revenge saga talks about three generations and Simha is playing a triple role.  Director Sakthivel Perumalsamy speaks to DC about the intriguing plot of the movie and how differently he has presented it in Urumeen.

Bobby Simha in a triple role: Simha will be essaying a triple role in the movie. There’s a 17th century segment where he will seen as king Rajasimhan of a small kingdom. And in the second, which is set in British period of the 19th century, he is an angry young advocate Cheziyan and in the present era he is Selva, a youngster who works for a call centre where Reshmi is his colleague. While we shot in Idukki in Kerala where we could locate several British buildings for the 19th period segment, the current portions were shot in Chennai and Puducherry.

Kalaiarasan as antagonist: He juggles between two characters as a teashop boy and honcho of a company in the present happenings. First seven minutes very crucial: It’s a fantasy adventure thriller and there’s a reincarnation touch to it. I can’t reveal more. I am not claiming that I am trying out something experimental or new. You would have seen this from Nenjam Marappadhillai days, but it the treatment as how I integrate all the three episodes that differs. For the first segment, I have used motion capture technology, which has been executed by our own Tamil Nadu team from Real Work Media from Coimbatore. For the seven minutes animation episode, which appears in the beginning of the movie took 100 days for the animation technicians.  The first seven minutes of the movie is very crucial and should not be missed, otherwise the audiences would not understand the rest of the story.

On screen chemistry of Bobby and Reshmi: Both will be at loggerheads throughout the movie. There are romantic songs composed by Achu, which are shot in montages, and yes, one can see the undercurrent chemistry between them.

Variation in cinematography: Ravindranath has used three different tones and colours for the film namely black, grey and green.  Highlight of the movie: The film is a total commercial entertainer set in action mode template. The second half and climax is the highpoint of the movie.
