Director Puri Jagannadh is gearing up for his upcoming film Loafer starring Varun Tej, the nephew of megastar Chiranjeevi. He is planning the film’s audio release function on December 7 in Hyderabad. Usually, Chiranjeevi is the chief guest at all the big events related to actors from the Mega family. But this time, Prabhas has been invited to be the chief guest and no other actor from the Mega family has been invited. This has led to the rumour mills churning overtime about how Puri wants to ignore the veteran actor after the way Chiranjeevi handled his 150th film fiasco.

First, it was announced that Puri would direct Chiranjeevi’s 150th film but later, the director went on record to say that he was hurt when Chiranjeevi announced to the media that he didn’t like the second half.

“Now, it’s Puri’s turn and he has told the producer that he doesn’t want any actor from the Chiranjeevi camp on the stage at the event,” says a source. However, when we asked producer C. Kalyan about the reported tiff between the two, he says, “It is not true. We wanted to do this audio function differently, so we invited Prabhas as the chief guest. But we are showing a video byte of Chiranjeevi and other actors blessing Varun.”

When asked about the old incident, he says, “That is over and both have spoken after Puri expressed his feelings.” Kalyan also confirmed that  Loafer will release on December 18.
