THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: KPCC chief V. M. Sudheeran has called  a meeting  of  the  commission members who inquired into  the  performance of all the 14 districts in the local bodies elections  at the KPCC office  on Wednesday. AICC general secretary in charge of the state, Deepak Babaria, held talks with Mr Sudheeran, a few  KPCC office-bearers and MLAs here on Tuesday.

The performance of Thiruvananthapuram DCC  was evaluated on Monday evening. Chief minister Oommen Chandy and home minister Ramesh Chennithala, who attended the meeting,  said that though Congress did reasonably well in the local  elections, the drubbing it  received at the hands of the BJP and the CPM in Thiruvananthapuram had badly hit the  party.

The KPCC is also unhappy with the performance of   Kollam, Thrissur, Palakkad, Kozhikode and Wayanad DCCs.  “Kollam DCC will be revamped as KPCC vice- president V. D. Satheeshan has given a bad review on its performance,”  said a senior Congress leader.

A final decision on  revamping of DCCs would be taken only after further talks with the AICC leadership.
