Hyderabad: A 32-year-old software employee died in an accident while travelling to work on Tuesday when a truck carrying LPG cylinders hit his bike near Wesley College in Secunderabad.

Sandeep Kumar, an employee of Magus Customer Dialog in Begumpet, died on the spot after suffering severe head, chest and stomach injuries as the truck run over him.

Kumar had married about two years ago and had a three-month-old son. A native of Saroornagar, he had shifted to Lal Bazar in Secunderabad area after his marriage to Ms Latha Maheshwari

“On Tuesday morning, when he reached the Wesley College area, a truck carrying LPG cylinders hit him from behind. As he fell down, the truck ran over him,” said Ramgopalpet SI Krishna Mohan. Sandeep died on the spot.

Sandeep was the elder son of Mr Nagendra and Ms Sukanya. His mother is currently on a pilgrimage to Varanasi. “He wanted to name his son Vihan. It means morning sun rays as he was the first born in the family, but now he left the family in darkness.” said Mr Prasad, a close relative.

A case under Section 304-a (accidental death) was registered against the truck driver, Mr Rajesh, and Kumar’s body was handed over to the family after post-mortem.
