Convene all-party meeting, GHMC told
G. Niranjan wrote to Chief Electoral Officer Bhanwarlal demanding action against KCR
Hyderabad: The State Election Commission on Tuesday asked the GHMC commissioner and the election authority to convene a meeting with leaders of all political parties to address the issues being raised by them.
SEC secretary M. Ashok Kumar forwarded the representation by TPCC president N. Uttam Kumar Reddy on certain issues concerning electoral rolls, finalisation of delimitation of divisions and identification of BC voters, to the GHMC commissioner.
Mr Kumar said since the issues raised by the TPCC chief fall within the domain of GHMC Election Authority and the state government, it would be appropriate to convene a meeting with leaders of various political parties soon.
Meanwhile, TPCC spokesperson G. Niranjan wrote to Chief Electoral Officer Bhanwarlal demanding action against Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, ministers and TRS leaders for violating the model code of conduct which came into force for the MLC polls from local body constituencies.
He said the CM addressed a meeting at his residence with Khammam Congress leaders and offered sops in order to admit them in TRS. Similarly K.T. Rama Rao used his chambers in the Secretariat to welcome leaders into the TRS.
