Many criminals repeat offenders in Cyberabad
Old crooks not staying at their addresses, say cops

Hyderabad: Out of the 9,192 criminals arrested in Cyberabad from 2009 to October 2015, 3,560 were repeat offenders. The police has completed survey of 5,632 offenders. Out of them 2,865 were traced and the rest are not staying at the addresses given at the time of arrest.
Out of the traced 2,685 criminals 239 are undergoing imprisonment at Cherlapally and 239 have died due to various reasons.
During the survey the police also surveyed 1,013 offenders in the Hyderabad commissionerate area who are staying in Cyberabad.
The Cyberabad police launched the Integral Criminal Survey on November 27. The survey is aimed at collecting details of 24,772 criminals arrested from 2009 to October 2015.
Police said 9,192 of the arrested criminals were staying at addresses in the Cyberabad area while the others were staying outside Cyberabad.
“We collected detailed information about 2,865 offenders and digitisation of this data is in process. Very soon a mobile app with the criminal database will be made available for all officers at the ground level,” said Cyberabad DCP (crimes) Dr Naveen Kumar.
During the survey cops found that 2,366 old offenders were not staying at addresses given at the time of arrest. The cops also conducted a survey of 1013 offenders from Hyderabad, of whom 112 were repeat offenders. From the 901 offenders, the details of 201 persons were collected.
“Among the 901 offenders, 406 are not staying at the given address at present. Eleven of them are dead and 14 of them are in prison,” added Dr Naveen Kumar.
Dr Naveen Kumar said police teams are working to trace the other criminals and a database with all details will be available very soon.
In the next phase the survey of the offenders who are staying outside Cyberabad will also be conducted.
