Anusha's parents alleged that she was harassed and killed
Hyderabad: An Infosys techie's wife allegedly hanged herself to death at their flat in the Miyapur area. The woman, Anusha, a housewife and Yashwanth Kumar, a software engineer got married nearly 18 months ago.
Yashwanth saw her wife hanging from the ceiling on Friday night after he returned from work. Police recovered a suicide note saying that she had committed suicide as she was depressed as her parents had forced her into marriage. However, Anusha's parents alleged that she was harassed and killed.
Anusha, 26, a native of Srikakulam and P. Yashwanth Kumar, a native of Vishakhapatnam got married in May 2014. After marriage, they were staying at Pragati Enclave. On Friday Yashwanth went to work. When he returned at night at around 10 pm he saw Anusha hanging from the ceiling on a saree.
“A suicide note written by Anusha saying that she had committed suicide as she was forced into marriage by her parents was found in the house,” said inspector K. Ramesh.
Meanwhile, Anusha's parents alleged that their daughter was tortured physically and mentally and that Yashwanth had killed her and was making it a suicide. “He started harassing my daughter from the fifth day of marriage. We kept asking her to adjust,” said Anusha's father. Based on a complaint from Anusha’s parents a case of dowry death was registered and Yashwanth was taken into custody.
