Hyderabad: TD national president N. Chandrababu Naidu has termed the latest set of defections into the TRS as unethical and asked his party’s TS leaders to be more cautious.

TD Hyderabad city president Maganti Gopinath and Ranga Reddy district president T. Prakash Goud met Mr Naidu who was here to attend a private function on Sunday.

The issue of TD MLA G. Sayanna’s defection to the TRS came up while they were reviewing the latest political situation.

Mr Goud told Mr Naidu that Mr Sayanna was lured by the TRS. He said that several TRS leaders were working to lure Opposition MLAs by offering several “inducements” including arranging finances.

Mr Naidu observed these kind of unethical practises by the TRS cannot be tolerated and it was he who gave the prestigious TTD Board membership to Mr Sayanna. “It’s unfortunate that despite the TD showering favours on him, Sayanna defected,” Mr Naidu reportedly said.

He asked the leaders to strengthen the party in the GHMC and coordinate with BJP, its ally, to bag the mayor seat for the TD.
