Kimye’s new baby name trolled
After announcing their son’s name as Saint West, the couple face flak again.
Kim Kardashian and Kanye West have named their newborn son Saint West. The couple are already parents to a two-year-old daughter named North.
In a post titled ‘To Our Fans’ on her website kimkardashianwest.com, the reality star wrote, “Saint West, 12.05.15, 8 pounds 1 ounce”. It was accompanied by four emojis, depicting their family. Within minutes of the announcement, memes poking fun at the name began circulating on Twitter and Instagram.
One showed a painting of Mary and Joseph kneeling over the baby Jesus’ manger, with photos of Kim and Kanye’s faces pasted onto the faces of Mary and Joseph. Following suit, another meme placed the baby emoji — the same one used by Kim in her name announcement post — onto a painting of a saint, while one showed Kanye as Jesus, cradling the baby emoji.
There was one Twitter user who jokingly suggested that Kim was smoking marijuana while picking out the names of her two children and another posted a photo of the gay nightclub promoter Stefon played by Bill Hader on Saturday Night Live and wrote “New York’s hottest club is Saint West.”
Another used the lyrics from Kanye’s song Golddigger with a slight tweak at the end, writing, “18 years, 18 years. Your name is going to be Saint West for at least 18 years.”
