BelagaviThe editor of a Urdu daily from Kalaburgi, Izan Sait, who was getting photos of important places in the state captured with the help of terror suspect Mohammad Qureshi, was produced before the JMFC 3rd court in Belagavi on Monday. On Sait’s orders, Qureshi had taken photos of airports, railway stations, bus terminus and other important installations in the state and sent them to Sait. The court remanded Sait to seven days judicial custody.

Qureshi, who was arrested by the Belagavi police while taking photos at a prohibited spot in the airport, was last week produced before a court, which remanded him to 14 days police custody. After the court order, the police took Sait to an unknown place for inquiry. Officials of the National Investigative Agency, besides Belagavi and Kalaburgi police, are interrogating Sait, sources said.

Sait, who is 40 years old, had employed Qureshi to distribute the newspaper and also to take photos of important installations. Recently, he had deposited '5,000 into Qureshi’s bank account. The police are investigating whether Sait had any links to terror organisations. The police officials have taken the arrest of Qureshi seriously only after they came to know that he was present on Church Street in Bengaluru on the day of the blast last year.
