India vault to No 2 in ICC test rankings

New Delhi: The 3-0 series win over World No. 1 South Africa propelled India to number two in Test rankings, four points behind the leaders. Virat Kohli’s boys gained 10 points from their series triumph which lifted them ahead of Australia and Pakistan, who slipped one place each to third and fourth places, respectively. India were fourth before the series.
Hashim Amla & Co., however, retained their top spot but their lead was slashed from 16 points to just four. To finish as the number-one ranked Test side at the annual cut-off date of April 1, South Africa will have to at least draw the upcoming series against England.
