Motorola has hinted a December 10 launch for the Moto G Turbo Edition

Mumbai: After making an announcement regarding the availability of Moto X Force in India, Motorola has again started posting teasers of the new Moto G Turbo edition, which is expected to launch this week.

The company has been relentlessly posting teasers on its India Twitter handle and has also hinted a December 10 launch for the handset.

The mid-ranged device, which was recently launched in Mexico, is similar to the Moto X Play in terms of specifications, apart from the camera and battery. However, the device also takes cues from the toughness of the Turbo brand, as it can withstand being submerged in water for up to a period of 30 minutes.

As far as specifications are concerned, the handset is expected to feature a 5-inch FHD screen (1920x1080 pixels), which is decent for a mid-ranged smartphone. At its core, the Moto G Turbo will run on a Android Lollipop 5.1 OS and will make the most of a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 along with 2GB RAM.

In terms of storage, the handset has an internal storage capacity of 16GB and can be expanded via external micorSD card. On the camera front, the device will sport a 13MP rear camera set-up along with single LED flash and a 5MP front shooter for selfies.

The device will have support for fast charging, which makes up for it’s average 2,470mAh battery. In terms of connectivity, the handset will feature bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and 4G LTE connectivity as well.

Although the company has not indicated anything regarding the price, we think that the device will be priced something close to the 19,000 mark based on it’s market value in Mexico. However, the price of the device may vary for India markets.
