Congress trying to silence judiciary in National Herald case, says BJP
New Delhi: As Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi accused the Prime Minister’s Office of indulging in a “pure political vendetta” and party members shouted slogans like “Modi teri tanashahi nahi chalegi (Modi, your dictatorship won’t work)” in Parliament over the National Herald case, the government hit back, saying the Congress leadership had a “Modi phobia” and that “anything happening on Earth is being linked” to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

With the chance of key bills, including the crucial one on GST, being passed by Parliament in the ongoing session fast diminishing, the government accused the Congress of practising “mobocracy” and of posing a “danger to democracy” by making Parliament “dysfunctional”.
It said the Congress was using Parliament to “intimidate and silence” the judiciary after Sonia and Rahul Gandhi were not given relief by a court in the National Herald case. The government also attacked the Opposition party for converting a “family problem” into a national issue and of “misusing” Parliament for family interests. The Government dared him to give proof on his allegations.
