The onslaught of heavy rains seems to have ended, and the city is getting back to normalcy. Kollywood industry is breathing a sigh of relief, as many pending flicks will get to see the light of day soon. While Eetti, which was supposed to hit the screens earlier, will release this Friday, the box office will witness a flurry of other releases too, most of them being dubbed ones.

Thennindiyan starring Sarathkumar and Nivin Pauly in lead roles, the dubbed version of a five year old Malayalam film Metro; Magadheera, the dubbed version of Ram Charan’s Telugu film Yevadu, Dirty Picture Returns and a Tamil film Thiruttu Rayil are expected to hit the marquee this Friday.

Meanwhile, the makers of Sivakarthikeyan’s Rajini Murugan, which was supposed to release on December 4, have yet to come up with a new release date. Also, the subsequent week, on December 18, Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol’s Dilwale, directed by Rohit Shetty will also have a release. In the recent past, there were several Bollywood biggies getting simultaneously released in regional languages. SRK’s Ra One and Happy New Year, were dubbed in Tamil earlier. One may recall that Chennai Express, which had SRK and Rohit Shetty teamed up for the first time too was dubbed in Tamil, and was a profitable venture for the distributors here.
