Hyderabad: Railway police superintendent S.J. Janardhan, against whom a case was registered on Thursday for allegedly trying to outrage the modesty of his colleague, claimed on Friday that she had filed the case because he had inquired about her education certificates which he alleged were fake. He claimed he had not harassed her. The woman had filed a petition in the High Court seeking action against the officer.
He said the employee was on sick leave for 11 months and reported for work on July 29, 2015. He had seen her only twice, he said. “I saw her on July 29, when she returned from sick leave and on July 30, when she came to my chamber to discuss her posting,” said the SP. Mr Janardhan alleged that the employee got the job as a junior assistant without proper qualifications.
She was given a job on compassionate grounds and was appointed at Hyderabad, which is neither her native place nor her in-laws place. “Later, she submitted an SSC memo that said that she passed exam in March 2003 and submitted a degree memo which said she got her degree in April 2015 from Madurai Kamaraj University,” the SP said.
The eligibility for graduation at MK University is a pass in Intermediate, whereas she got her degree immediately after she passed SSC, he alleged. Based on a report from another officer on her educational qualifications, the SP initiated a probe. To cover her mistakes, she resorted to such cheap tricks, the SP alleged. The employee had complained against former Railway SPs and other male colleagues with the same allegations. However the employee maintained that the SP in the presence of two other colleagues had harassed her in his cabin. As per High Court orders, a sexual harassment case was registered against the SP and two other employees.
