New Delhi: In a set back to students intend to study law course, the Supreme Court on Friday refused to interfere with the Bar Council of India’s rule fixing the upper age limit for three and five- year law courses, viz 30 and 20 years.

A bench of Justices J.S. Khehar and Rohinton Nariman dismissed appeals against the Madras High Court judgment quashing the BCI notification removing the age restriction.

The Bench told the counsel for the petitioners that since the HC had only stated that BCI had not followed the procedure, it is now open the BCI to follow the procedure and remove the age restriction.
