Manchester (England): Yaya Toure scored an injury-time winner to secure a 2-1 victory for Manchester United over Swansea in the Premier League on Saturday after a frantic finish at the Etihad Stadium.
Bafetimbi Gomis thought he had earned a draw for Swansea when he equalised in the 90th minute with a powerful rising shot that beat Joe Hart at his near post from a difficult angle.
But City recovered as Toure won it with a deflected shot in stoppage time to put the host provisionally back atop the standings, ahead of Leicester on goal difference.
Wilfried Bony had given City the lead in the 26th minute with a header against his former team.
Earlier in the day, Wes Hoolahan’s scruffy equaliser prevented Everton from gaining on the league’s leading sides as Roberto Martinez’s men were held to a 1-1 draw at Carrow Road on Saturday.
Victory would have taken Everton to within a point of fifth-place Tottenham Hotspur, but after Romelu Lukaku gave them a 15th-minute lead, they squandered a glut of
opportunities to extend their advantage.
Hoolahan duly levelled the scores early in the second half, scuffing in from close range to consign Everton to a third consecutive draw and inch Norwich a point clear of the relegation places.
They might have emerged with all three points, only for Cameron Jerome to produce a miss with 20 minutes left, hoisting the ball over the bar from Hoolahan’s flick.
