After almost two years of speculations about Chiranjeevi’s 150th film, on Sunday evening Ram Charan made it official that his father’s prestigious project would be the remake of the hit Tamil film Kaththi.

“The 150th film is confirmed. It’s a remake of Kaththi and V.V. Vinayak is the director,” said Ram Charan to a private channel in Bengaluru.

A few months back, Ram had announced that Puri Jagannadh would direct the landmark film, but after some time Chiranjeevi had vetoed it as he did not find the script’s second half interesting.

There had been reports that the megastar was interested in doing the remake of the Vijay starrer Kaththi. The film, which was a big hit in Tamil, was directed by A.R. Murugadoss.
