Chandrababu Naidu for medical experts on contract basis in government hospitals

Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has directed officials to appoint medical experts, including superintendents, on contract basis in government hospitals to improve medical services in the state.
Naidu on Tuesday reviewed the functioning of the health sector on the final day of the District Collectors conference. "The Chief Minister has directed officials to appoint medical experts, including superintendents, on contract basis in government hospitals to improve medical services in the state," an official release said.
The health sector in the state needs reforms and it should be totally revamped, the Chief Minister said. He instructed officials that within a week advisory committees should be constituted at all the government hospitals.
Naidu also asked the District Collectors to implement bio-metric attendance system for doctors and paramedical staff at all hospitals on the lines of Krishna district.
He expressed satisfaction that mother and child health care system in the state is "considered as the best" and we (the state government) are also receiving good results on reducing the mother mortality rate and infant mortality rate, it added.
