Hyderabad: Two tech savvy brothers from Nagpur who ran a drug racket with the help of a Deep Web community and tried to distribute drugs in Hyderabad have been arrested. The duo, Mayank Kumar Sahu, 22, and his younger brother Piyush Kumar Sahu, 20, both online graphic designers from Nagpur, bought LSD from the Darknet drug traders' community Nucleus Market and smuggled it to Hyderabad, police said.

Though their online transactions were not detected by the police as it was done using the Tor web browser, police teams busted the racket when they came to the city to distribute the LSD on Wednesday. The police had earlier arrested their helpers, who promised to distribute the drugs in the city. Mustafa Mohiuddin, 27, from King Koti, Junaid Raza Siddiqui, 25, from Rajender Nagar and Md Manzil Mukram Pasha, 26, were identified as their aides. The gang was busted when they were waiting near the GHMC office near Liberty, police said. Police seized 145 blots of LSD from the gang.

Police said the Sahu brothers made a plan to purchase drugs online and sell in Hyderabad. He met his assistant Mustafa online and struck a deal. Mustafa and two others were offered a handsome commission for distributing drugs in the city. “They delivered the drugs to Mustafa and others who were trapped by our team. Later, we caught the two brothers,” said South Zone Task Force additional DCP N. Koti Reddy.

The Sahu brothers ordered 50 to 100 sachets of LSD each time from the Deep Web community Nucleus Market.  Police suspect that the brothers had sold drugs earlier to peddlers in various other cities but this is yet to be confirmed. Since transactions on Darknet are secret the police is unable to find out from where the drug was shipped. An investigation has been launched by CCS police to find out more facts.
