PM was discourteous: KC Joseph
Mr Joseph said Union Minister Rajiv Pratp Rudy's statement in Parliament
Thiruvananthapuram: Information minister K.C. Joseph hit out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi saying that despite meeting CM Oommen Chandy twice, he did not show the basic courtesy to enquire about the controversy related to R. Sankar statue unveiling ceremony. The minister told the media that Mr Modi had met the CM in Kochi and then in Thiruvananthapuram.
“It is highly deplorable that he didn't have the time to discuss the issue which had generated a lot of controversy and insulted the chief minister,” he added. Mr Joseph said Union Minister Rajiv Pratp Rudy's statement in Parliament that the chief minister had written a letter to the PMO expressing his inconvenience to attend the function was a plain lie. The repeated queries from PMO on whether the chief minister was attending the statue unveiling ceremony raised serious doubts about their intentions , he said. The minister said that there was no intelligence report about possible trouble at the function because of chief minister’s participation.
