Twitter's Indian-origin video head set to quit company
The report said Singh oversaw the consumer video product for the main app.
New York: An Indian-origin senior executive at Twitter is planning to quit the social media giant next month, the latest in a string of departures from the company.
Baljeet Singh, who is Twitter's product lead in charge of video, joined the micro-blogging site nearly two years ago after more than five years at YouTube, tech website Re/code quoted sources as saying.
The report said Singh oversaw the consumer video product for the main app.
A Twitter spokesperson confirmed to the website that Singh, whose title is senior product director, was leaving.
The company has been losing a number of strong product leaders over the past six months, including Glenn Brown, an ad executive who was handling Twitter's video ad push and left in October, the report said.
It said video was soon to become a very crucial aspect of social media.
Facebook and Snapchat are strong in the video segment. While Twitter has shown increased interest in video over the past six months, Twitter video is not a huge deal to the broader media world as many content creators still go to YouTube and Facebook to share their work, the report said.
