Looks like Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan’s highly ambitious multi-crore period film Marudhanayagam, which was shelved 18 years ago will be revived soon as it has found investors. The historical movie on 18th century warrior named Mohammed Yusuf Khan portrayed by Kamal was launched with much fanfare way back in 1997, with Queen Elizabeth II attending it. The movie was put on clod storage for lack of funds and there have been rumors of the film being resumed on and off.

Now, with Ayngaran International posting a digitally reworked poster of Kamal Haasan’s Marudhanayagam on their official Twitter handle, which indicates that the latest speculation might soon turn out to be true. If close sources are to be believed then Ayngaran along with Lyca Productions, which is bankrolling Rajinikanth’s costliest film Enthiran 2.0 will produce Marudhanayagam as well. In an earlier interview to us Kamal has said that he was waiting for a proper investor for Marudha… since it is an international gargantuan budget film to be made in multiple languages including English.
