PIL on deletion of clause on heritage conservation
City resident T. Bucha Reddy moved the PIL.
Hyderabad: A division bench comprising acting Chief Justice Dilip B. Bhosale and Justice S.V. Bhatt of the Hyderabad High Court on Thursday said it would hear a PIL challenging an order issued by the TS government deleting Regulation 13 of Hyderabad Urban Development Authority Zoning Regulations, 1981, incorporated to protect heritage buildings.
City resident T. Bucha Reddy moved the PIL stating that the erstwhile AP government had issued GO Ms No. 542 on December 14, 1995, adding Regulation 13 to the HUDA Zoning Regulations 1981.
He said the regulation was meant to conserve listed buildings, areas, artifacts, structures etc. of historical, aesthetic, architectural or cultural value apart from heritage buildings and heritage precincts etc.
He said that the action of the government was contrary to Section 59 (1) of the AP Urban Areas (Development) Act and urged the court to declare the GO as illegal.
