CNG buses: Notice to KSRTC

The petitioner had sought directions to ensure that all buses be converted to CNG/LPG.

The Karnatakta High Court has issued notice to the Karnataka State Pollution Control Board, Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation, Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation, North-West KSRTC and North-East KSRTC, hearing a petition seeking direction to convert all buses to Compressed Natural Gas or Liquefied Petroleum Gas. 
 
Hearing a public interest litigation filed by advocate Vinay Shivanand Naik on Friday, the division bench of Acting Chief Justice Subhro Kamal Mukherjee and Justice B Manohar issued notice to government agencies. The petitioner had sought directions to ensure that all buses plying in the city or passing through the city be converted to CNG/LPG.
