Kochi: A KSRTC driver was dismissed  and a conductor suspended after an internal probe by the corporation  found them guilty of indulging in a drunken brawl inside a bus at the Bangalore satellite stand.

Junior conductor A. Satheesh  and  M-panel (temporary appointment) driver K. Ratheesh  were  attached with the Thrissur depot.

“The incident happened during rest time on December 4.  The super deluxe bus reached the stand on December 3 midnight. The next day was rest day and the bus was scheduled to return only in the evening. The duo indulged in drinking and later had  a brawl. The driver locked up the conductor in the driver cabin and left the bus,” a senior official said.

The conductor later tried to get out and damaged the lock in a fit of rage.  The incident has come  even as the Kerala police have decided to launch a special drive against bus drivers indulging in drinking while on duty.
