Hyderabad: Medak police stepped up security for Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao’s Chandi Yagam. Extra forces were called to Erravelli from other divisions for the next one week. Platoons of TS Special Police will also be deployed. Meanwhile,  North Zone police in Hyderabad beefed up security as part of President’s southern sojourn. Senior cops from Medak said that extra security forces will be deployed in the Siddipet division one day prior to the programme.

Anti Sabotage checks and other precautionary measures have already been carried out by the district cops on Saturday. Since several VIPs will be attending a large number of traffic cops will also be deployed on  the roads towards Erravali, where the KCR’s farmhouse is located. The organisers are expecting at least  20,000 vehicles would be arriving to the Yagam venue. Special parking arrangements have already been made.

“We have looked into the security deployment and identified strategic locations to put the troops on ground. A foolproof security will be in place from the first day,” said a senior official from Medak district.
