KT Rama Rao drags Narendra Modi into GHMC elections
IT minister angry, says PM has no time for Hyderabad.
Hyderabad: The TRS trained its guns on Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the run-up to the GHMC elections. While continuing to woo leaders from other parties, the TRS asserted that a win in the GHMC polls by the party was a must to ensure faster development of Hyderabad, which had been neglected by Congress and TD governments.
Panchayat raj minister K.T. Rama Rao criticised Mr Modi for his failure to visit Hyderabad even once in 18 months of being in office though he visited 40-50 countries. “Modi has ruled for 18 months and KCR ruled for 18 months. You have seen KCR and his work.
Did anyone see Modi? He has time to visit 40 to 50 countries, but he has not visited Hyderabad or many other states. There’s a joke in New Delhi — PM Narendra Modi was searching for a seat belt in his seat when he attended Parliament,” he remarked.
Asserting that a TRS win was a must for the development of Hyderabad as a global city, Mr Rama Rao reeled out various welfare and development initiatives taken up by the CM during his 18-month rule.
EC warns KTR on poll code
The Election Commission cautioned IT minister K.T. Rama Rao on Monday to be careful and not to give any chances for complaints regarding violation of the model code of conduct. The EC was responding to complaints against the IT minister for violating the model code by inducting ZPTCs and MPTCs into the TRS on November 27. It had issued a notice to the minister on December 9 to give his version on the complaints in 48 hours.
