Veteran filmmaker and father of Ilayathalapathy Vijay, SA Chandrashekar, is turning hero with Nayyapudai, which is produced by his close buddy Thaanu. At the promo of the film, SAC shared how he groomed Vijay when the latter wanted to enter film industry at the age of 15.
“I told him that it was not an easy task to become an actor. One should equip himself well before entering tinsel town. Stunt master ‘Jaguar’ Thangam and I would wake him up at 4.30 am and take him to the beach everyday. We would make him ride a horse, and jump into the water while riding. I told him that it is imperative to know real action and excel at dance, if one wants to become a hero. I trained Vijay in both and made him a hero then. And today, here he is, a bankable star in Tamil cinema,” he says.
About the film Nayyapudai, he said, “I was initially hesitant to attempt a risky stunt of jumping from a car, but debut director Vijaykiran encouraged me to do it without a body double. He has also made me dance for a funny number.” The movie has Pa Vijay, Chandini, MS Bhaskar, and Naan Kadavul Rajendhran in vital characters and music by Taj Noor.
