Hyderabad: Officials of the Commissioner Task Force on Tuesday raided an educational consultancy that claimed to be among the top five in the state and seized several forged documents. The firm, Pacific Overseas Education Consultancy located at Masab Tank, had allegedly produced fraudulent documents for students to send them to various countries abroad, officials said.
The police also detained two officials of the consultancy. The officials suspect that the fraudsters have sent students to countries like Australia, USA, UK, etc. on student visas obtained using forged documents.
“We have seized a large chunk of documents from them. Many of those documents, which are now being processed, seem to be forged,” said one of the officials who raided the place.
The consultancy would lure students by maintaining a strong presence in social media and the Internet. Students who made it to the universities abroad had paid lakhs to the consultancy.
