Hyderabad: Beleaguered Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Nabam Tuki on Wednesday met President Pranab Mukherjee here demanding his intervention in the crisis reportedly created by the NDA appointed Governor J.P. Rajkhowa.
Speaking to this newspaper after meeting the President, Mr Tuki said, “I have demanded recall of the Governor who has been asked by the BJP High Command to see that a new government headed by BJP-Congress rebels is in place before Assembly polls in April.”
Opposition BJP and rebel Congress MLAs got together on December 17 to “vote out” Mr Tuki and to “elect” a rebel Congress MLA in his place.
Mr Tuki said since Gauhati HC has stayed the Governor’s action of advancing the Assembly session, his Government will file a fresh affidavit before the HC in next few days seeking its intervention to convene the Assembly session before January 20 as per the Constitutional requirement.
