Mysuru: Mysuru deputy commissioner C. Shikha who has been conducting a magisterial inquiry into the Madikeri clash reported during Tipu Jayanti celebrations on November 11, which claimed two lives has reportedly issued summons to two BJP MLAs of Kodagu, Mr Appachchu Ranjan and former Speaker Mr K.G. Bopaiah asking them to appear before the probe panel.

Reacting to this, Mr Appachchu Ranjan told reporters that this was yet another conspiracy by the Congress candidate for the MLC election from Kodagu constituency, Mr Chandramouli. He alleged that the issue of summons to MLAs was a violation of the law and said only the Speaker has the power to issue the summons. “We will initiate a debate on this in the Assembly,” he said. When contacted by Deccan Chronicle, DC Ms Shikha declined to comment.
