New Chief Secretary, DGP at helm of Andhra Pradesh affairs in New Year
The Centre has sanctioned two DG cadre posts to AP
Hyderabad: 2016 will bring new Chief Secretary and also new DGP to AP state. Present Chief Secretary IYR Krishna Rao will retire from service on January 31 while DGP J.V. Ramudu retires on July 31.
The Centre has sanctioned six Chief Secretary cadre posts to AP and the government is continuing with 12 CS posts. In addition, some senior IAS officers have come from the Centre to state service.
With this at present total number of CS cadre posts have reached 15. There are three Special Chief Secretaries in the race for the CS post — A.K. Parida, SP Tucker and Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar.
Among them, Mr Kumar will retire on March 31 and Mr Tucker on August 31. Mr Parida will continue in service for another year. According to sources, Mr Tucker has a fair chance of getting the post. The Centre has sanctioned two DG cadre posts to AP and the state is continuing with four.
At present one DG cadre post is vacant. After retirement of Mr Ramudu three IPS officers are in the race for the post — S.A. Huda, S.V. Ramana Murthy and N. Sambasiva Rao.
Mr Sambasiva Rao is due for promotion as DG as one DG Cadre post is vacant. Sources said among the three, Mr Sambasiva Rao is likely to get a chance as new DGP of AP.
