Hyderabad: After he was counselled by the police in an interview, 21-year-old Abdul Basith had told a national TV channel that he understood the gravity of his action and would never again try to join the ISIS.
After the journalist switched on his camera, Basith subtly told him that unless the Babri Masjid issue was solved, de-radicalisation of Muslim youngsters might not work. He also hinted that his frustration over the Babri Masjid demolition had prompted him to embrace radical ideas.
Sources said that Basith had received some $50,000 from abroad for his and his cousin’s travel expenses.
