Chain snatchers strike again

Two bike-borne persons came and snatched away her 3-tola gold chain.

Hyderabad: In continuing strikes, chain-snatchers targeted a housewife in  Saidabad area and a housemaid in Saroor Nagar area and relieved them  of three each tolas of gold ornaments Saturday.

P. Shanthilatha, 46, is a resident of Reddy Colony in Saidabad and her  husband works with TSRTC. Around 6am, she went out to dump garbage in the dustbin placed on the road. On return, she purchased a milk packet from a nearby store.

“While she was about to enter home through the gate two unknown persons snatched away her three-tola gold chain,”said Saidabad detective inspector Narahari. The men, who pounced on her from behind had covered their faces with scarfs and fled on a bike.

In the second incident, a 25-year-old housemaid was targeted. Padma,  working as maid at a house on Road 2 in Sairamnagar Colony in Saroornagar, was putting Rangoli in front of the house. Two bike-borne persons came and snatched away her 3-tola gold chain and fled the  place,” said Saroornagar detective inspector Sunil.

The snatchers  managed to give a slip to the anti-chain snatching squad that was present on Road 5 in the colony.
