THOOTHUKUDI: The Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) is ready to enter into an alliance with the BJP for the 2016 Assembly elections in Tamil Nadu, if the saffron party accepts PMK's youth wing leader and MP, Dr Anbumani Ramadoss, as the chief ministerial candidate, PMK founder-leader Dr S. Ramadoss said here on Saturday. He is also ready to offer the deputy chief minister’s post to the BJP if the alliance was to come to power in the state after the polls next year.
Dr Ramadoss, speaking to mediapersons after visiting the flood affected areas in Thoothukudi district on Saturday said that PMK would prove itself as the "formidable alternative to the AIADMK and the DMK in the ensuing Assembly election".
Dr Ramadoss also brushed aside the opposition DMK "as a withered tree". The PMK is also committed to bring in total prohibition and Lok Ayuktha in the first assembly session if his party came to power in Tamil Nadu, added Dr Ramadoss.
