Policeman on yagam duty dies in mishap

He went for bandobast duty two days ago and was returning home in his Pulsar bike.

Hyderabad: A police constable returning home after performing bandobast duty at the Chandi Yagam site died in an accident on Saturday. Thakur Govind  Singh, 27, attached to IDA Bollaram police station in Medak district was riding his bike when an unknown vehicle hit him.

A resident of Patancheru, he joined as constable in 2009 and was posted at IDA Bollaram police station. He went for bandobast duty two days ago and was returning home in the morning on his Pulsar bike.

“He suffered  severe head injury and died on the spot,” said IDA Bollaram additional SI Maheshwar. Passersby noticed his body lying on the ORR service road in Bollaram village and informed the police. Govind was planning marriage in the next six months and stayed with his father Raja Ram  Singh.

His mother had died two years ago and his younger sister got married six months ago. His elder brother working in the Army iscurrently in Nigeria for an Army Sports Meet.
