Kochi: The RSS Sarsanghchalak Mohan Bhagwat reaching in Kochi on Monday will be having a series of meetings with a cross section of the people other than Sangh parivar leaders.

Although persons close to RSS tried to play down the visit as a routine affair undertaken by the RSS chief to every state, political observers feel that the visit is part of the determined efforts by Sangh Parivar to make further electoral gains in the state.

Apart from Parivar leaders the RSS chief is scheduled to have a session with select persons active in television news channels on Wednesday. The persons invited for the tete-e-tete with Bhagwat included Adv Jayashankar, Adv Sivan Madathil, Adv DB Binu among others.

Adv Kaleeswaram Raj, invited for the session with the Sarsangchalak however declined the offer. “I told them that I have serious ideological differences with RSS and declined the invitation with due respect” Adv Raj told DC.

Adv Binu, an active campaigner in the area of Right to Information Act, said he will attend the discussion. “I will take the opportunity to impress the RSS leader about the lack of action by RSS in the issues connected with corruption. Beyond that I don’t have any other interest in the meeting”, he said.
