Sonia Gandhi to meet leaders on Wednesday
Ms Sonia Gandhi will dedicate the RIT at a function to be held on the RIT ground at 3 p.m.

Kochi: Congress president Sonia Gandhi will interact with the leaders of the state Congress and the UDF when she arrives to inaugurate the silver jubilee of the Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Technology at Pampady on Wednesday.
Chief Minister Oommen Chandy denied any violation of protocol in inviting Ms Gandhi for the function saying “she is the wife of the former prime minister who laid down his life for the nation.”
Ms Sonia Gandhi will dedicate the RIT at a function to be held on the RIT ground at 3 p.m. The RIT was proposed in the budget of June 12, 1991 after the assassination of Rajiv Gandhi and the first phase was completed in 2004.
“Though Sonia Gandhi was invited to inaugurate it on December 26, 2004, it was postponed after the tsunami hit the state.
The function was later slated for March 2006, but the notification for the Assembly election was issued then. Thereafter, no public meetings were held there,” Mr Chandy said.
