SP suspends MLA, expels 4 others for 'anti-party' activities
Sunil Yadav alias Sajan and Anand Bhadauria were said to be close associates of CM.
Lucknow: Samajwadi Party on Monday suspended its MLA Ruchiveera and expelled her husband and three other leaders for "anti-party" activities during the panchayat polls.
Ruchi Veera, who was suspended, is MLA from Bijnor. Her husband Udayan Veera, former MP Yashveer Singh and party leaders Jamil Ansari and Khalil-ur-Rehman have been expelled from the party, SP General Secretary Ramgopal Yadav said in a release issued here.
These leaders were involved in "anti-party activities" in district panchayat polls, he added but did not elaborate.
Earlier, the party had sacked two leaders Sunil Yadav alias Sajan and Anand Bhadauria, who are said to be close associates of Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav.
Sajan was national president of SP Chhatrasabha, while Bhadauria was former national president of Lohia Vahini.
Another SP leader Subodh Yadav, son of party MLA from Etah, Rameshwar Yadav, was also expelled on charges of indulging in anti-party activities.
