Suresh Prabhu offers prayers in Tirumala

Tirupati: Union minister for railways Suresh Prabhakar Prabhu accompanied by his family members offered prayers in the world renowned famous Hindu shrine of Lord Venkateswara at Tirumala on Sunday morning during the VIP break darshan time.

On their arrival, the Union minister was accorded a grand reception by the TTD chairman, Dr Ch. Krishnamurthy, TTD Trust Board member G. Bhanuprakash Reddy and temple priests, who escorted him into the sanctum sanctorum.

Inside the sanctum sanctorum, the priests of Tirumala temple explained to the Union minister about the significance of the Lord and the jewels adorned to the presiding deity.

Mr Prabhu spent few minutes praying before the presiding deity of Lord Venkateswara and later reached Ranganayakula Mandapam where he was accorded Vedasirvachanam by the temple priests.

Later, the TTD chairman offered Lord's silk vastram, prasadams and lamination photo of Lord Venkateswara to the minister. Deputy executive officer Chinnamgari Ramana, officer on special duty Lakshminarayana Yadav and others were present.
