Infosys to inaugurate its campus in February
At Pocharam on the outskirts of Hyderabad.
Hyderabad: IT minister K.T. Rama Rao on Monday said that Infosys will formally inaugurate its campus at Pocharam on the outskirts of Hyderabad in February. The 447-acre facility has a seating capacity of 25,000. Its construction had begun in 2008 and was expected to get completed in three phases by 2018. Currently, around 12,000 employees are working at the facility, which is Infosys’ second campus in Hyderabad.
“Infosys is planning to inaugurate the campus formally in February, after GHMC elections,” the minister told the newspaper. According to the minister, Infosys CEO Vishal Sikka who happened to be the city on Monday dropped in at T-Hub to meet Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella. He said the government would invite Infosys CEO to address entrepreneurs at T-Hub very soon.
Meanwhile, Infosys on Monday unveiled a 6.6 MW capacity solar PV power plant at its Pocharam campus. Combined with the existing 0.6 MW rooftop solar plant, the Pocharam campus will be one of the first corporate campuses in India to be run completely by renewable energy.
